to Windhorse Thoroughbreds, LLC the premier site for “New York Bred” racehorses. Windhorse is a thoroughbred breeding operation concentrating on selling New York Bred yearlings privately and at public auction and racing homebred two year olds in customized racing partnerships. Founded in 2006 by Patricia Lavelle, Windhorse maintains a quality band of broodmares with the breeding and pedigree to produce top racehorses.
Cotton Hill Farm was established in 2009 and is the new home of Windhorse Thoroughbreds. Cotton Hill Farm comprises 244 fabulous acres located in beautiful Middleburgh, New York in scenic Schoharie County. Over the next two years, this gorgeous property will be re-invented as a state of the art broodmare farm and foal nursery. Cotton Hill Farm will take shape little by little as the necessary improvements are made to the existing structures and land. Cotton Hill Farm is a beautiful place, located at the end of a long, winding country road and is the perfect place for raising strong, healthy racehorses. To accelerate the transition to a first-class facility, Patty and her husband John have made Cotton Hill Farm their new home.
Windhorse’s desire is to have a truly blissful home for its horses with consistency and tranquility in their daily lives. Windhorse believes that if mares are content and secure they will be healthier and happier and therefore more likely to produce and nurture healthy, well adjusted foals. The goal is for each mare to live and foal in her own suite providing a stress free, familiar environment. The Windhorse foals will be imprinted, handled often, feet picked daily, taught good manners and raised with lots of exercise, fresh air and love.
“Please visit the website often to see our horse offerings and developments at Cotton Hill Farm. I look forward to meeting you in person and showing you the future champions we have for sale. I am very proud of them.”
